Gospel singer, Queen Esselyte, has released a new video single titled ‘If E No Be God, Where I For Dey’.
The single is her relaunch into the gospel music scene following a two-year hiatus.
A medley of sorts, If E No Be God, Where I For Dey details Esselyte’s mountain top and valley experiences with her, and is a live recording rendered in her usual energetic, Niger Delta cultural dance style.
“I was inspired to write this song to encourage Nigerians to embrace God as a loving father who can help them navigate tough times. My testimony is that I have passed through a lot in life, but God has been there for me and has always made a way for me when there seems to be no way or anyone to help me.
“This song is a praise song meant to express appreciation to God for his care and protection, particularly in this past year which held many horrible incidents,” she said.
Born Esse Oke Owoferia, a native of Urhobo, Delta State, Nigeria began her music career as a back-up singer. She hit the limelight with her popular medley of praise The Big God. Her style is reminiscent of the late Kefee who dominated the early 2000’s with the release of her single Branama but died of lung failure in 2014.
