The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Thursday, charged Nigerians to continue to pray for the country to become a better abode for the citizens.
Represented by the National Overseer of the Church, Pastor Joshua Obayemi at the 13th convocation ceremony of the Redeemer’s University, held at the school campus in Ede, Osun State, he said despite the numerous challenges facing the country, with prayer, God will turn things around.
He urged the graduating students to be focus and not to relent, saying despite the difficult situation in the country, success await them with hard work.
“I want you to be like the other two servants, who despite the challenges of their time, just as we have in our nation today, rose up and refused to be discouraged. They put in their best and at the end of the day, they had something to show for their efforts.
“To our dear parents, guardians and entire University community, please, do not let us stop to pray for these ones and for our nation, that the same God who turned things around in Samaria in those days will turn things around miraculously, for us in this nation”.
Meanwhile in his convocation address, the university Vice Chancellor, Professor Anthony Akinlo said out of the 381 graduating students, 37 bagged first class, 137 graduated with second class upper division, 138 with lower division while 41 bagged third class.
He charged the the graduands to be fully equipped for journey into life with digital skill considering the rapid change and challenge of the 21st century workplace.
In his remark after being conferred with a honoraury doctor of letters degree, former Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, commended Pastor Adeboye for his sacrifice towards the success of the university, especially the faculty of law.
He also pledged to always assist the school at all times, urging the management to always reach out to him when need arises.
