Dr. D.K. Olukoya |
The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has reiterated that God remains the greatest security of man, no matter what mechanisms, and means people put in place to secure themselves and the society.
Olukoya, made this known at the inauguration of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Prayer City Unit, last Thursday, promising to continue to support the Nigeria Police and other security agencies in whatever capacity is required of him.
“I have no option but to support the police. My father was a policeman and I lived in the barracks for many years,” Olukoya, added.
The MFM G.O, in company with his wife, Pastor Folashade Olukoya, was decorated with the award of Grand Patron of the MFM Prayer City Unit of PCRC. Also at the event, the National Vice Chairman, South-West, of PCRC, Alhaji Ibrahim Aramide Olaniyan, recalled how Dr. Olukoya was awarded the South-West Patron of PCRC years ago; adding that with his cordial relationship with the police, which he also traced to his background as a son of a policeman, he said Olukoya and his wife should expect more awards soon.
Earlier in his inauguration speech, the Ogun State Chairman of the PCRC, Venerable Samson Kunle Popoola, acknowledged the immense contributions of the General Overseer and the MFM leadership for always supporting the police and other security agencies, stressing that “we will continue to thank you, even as you are an integral part of the police family.
“While the pulpit will ever remain a potent tool for character-molding and social-engineering, the pulpit could also be used for reorientation and rehabilitation of criminally-minded individuals in the society.”
He also charged that it is his “desire for the unit to be on the frontline of fights against crimes in its catchment area, as well as a willing shoulder for the police personnel and formation to lean on, in times of need, as it is an undeniable fact that our police are undermanned, underpaid and under-motivated for so many parochial and selfish reasons.”
He said that he looks forward to having an MFM Division in no distant future, as well as a very robust membership base for the PCRC unit.
Reiterating the assurances of the Commissioner of Police Lanre Sikiru Bankole and his management, field and tactical commanders, of their readiness to combat crime from all fronts, he urged that the citizenry must support them in the areas of information and intelligence gathering, as well as logistical and psychological support, for them to perform optimally.
One of the recipients of the patron’s award, the Mega Regional Overseer of MFM Ota and a member of the Editorial Board of the MFM News Digest, Pastor Wale Adeolumuyiwa, prayed for the progress of the relationship between the police and the community so that the security of the citizenry can grow to greater heights.
Other award recipients, who were also decorated at the inauguration ceremony are Pastor Tayo Adedini, the Prayer City Commandant; Pastor Frederick Alewi, Senior Regional Overseer, in charge of Land and Property and Pastor Gbenga Oyewunmi, the Mega Regional Overseer, Abeokuta.
