RCCG Milk & Honey Area holds 1st Sagamu Street-wide Crusade for okada riders, tricycle taxi operators

It was a moment of divine visitation and favour for three hundred Okada riders and commercial tricycle operators who attended the maiden edition of Sagamu Street-Wide Crusade organised recently by The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Milk & Honey Area, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The air of novelty which enveloped Awolowo Market area of Makun, Sagamu, that day, pulled this class of transporters to the Mobil Filling Station, venue of the crusade, even as it was raining slowly that time.

Being the first of its kind, perhaps in Remo area of Ogun State, the novelty crusade initiated by the pastor in charge of RCCG Milk & Honey Area headquarters, Enoch Adebayo Akinde, aroused the attention of so many people; even as members of the church were distributing the crusade handbills to invite them for the program.

The pastor in charge of RCCG Ogun Province 5, Sagamu, Ogun State, Joseph Olusegun Abimbola who was invited to preach briefly during the one-hour crusade, pronounced blessings on the congregants, with prophetic utterances, after asking them to demand what they wanted from God in prayer.

Pastor Abimbola spoke on the need for them to allow Jesus Christ to be involved in their mobile transport business for them to enjoy divine involvement as Peter in the Holy Bible did when Jesus entered his boat and caused Peter's failed fishing business to experience a great breakthrough .

The crusade was part of the programmes organised in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of Akinde's pastorate in the RCCG Milk & Honey Area, which was aimed at impacting the lives of this lower class of transporters in the town, via evangelism.

At the end of the crusade those 300 tricycle operators and Okada riders who assembled at the Mobil Filling Station, were given three liters of petroleum each.

While speaking on the outcome of the crusade, Pastor Abimbola noted that it was a challenging and interesting programme which other pastors in RCCG Ogun Province 5 should emulate.

He explained further that it would have great impacts on the lives of the people.

A female parish pastor in the RCCG MILK & Honey Area, Omotola Awoyemi, said the donation of three liters of petroleum to each of the tricycle operators and Okada riders was their unique way of carrying out their Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR.

She disclosed that this novelty CSR project was embarked on to bring gospel message to many people, for them to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

According to A.P. (Mrs) Awoyemi, this was aimed at fulfilling the mission and goals of The RCCG, as directed by their General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

She pointed out that evangelism was the heartbeat of God which Pastor Adeboye has great interest in and wanted them to be more committed to.

She noted that the crusade organised for the Okada riders and tricycle operators was the first of its kind in Sagamu.

"We distributed handbills, our provincial father, Pastor Abimbola preached and souls were won for Christ.

"We were even thinking they won't come because it's raining. But they came and listened to the message and some of them gave their lives to Christ" she explained.
